I.     Introduction

CityPup knows that you care how information about you is used and shared. This Privacy Policy (this "Policy") describes how the founders and operators of the online service CityPup ("CityPup") collect, use and share personal information of users of the CityPup website and related services (collectively, the “Services”).

Unless otherwise indicated, all terms have the same definitions as those in the CityPup Terms of Service  the agreement that governs your access to the Services.

  II.     What Information We Collect

When you use these Services, we collect the following information:

 ·      Information You Give Us – To facilitate matches with other users, we require you to share information about yourself (“Information”), including your name, email, phone number, city, zip code, age, gender, dog’s name, photograph of yourself and your dog, description of your dog, description of yourself, and description of what sorts of dog owners and dogs you would like to meet with. Please note that this Information will be shared with other users, except for the photographs of yourself and your dog, which will only be used internally.

·      Information Collected by Third Parties  – CityPup uses:

o   GroupMe to facilitate conversations between users. See GroupMe’s privacy and security documentation at https://privacy.microsoft.com/en-us/privacystatement.

o   Squarespace to host its website and monitor analytics. See Squarespace’s privacy and security and documentation at https://www.squarespace.com/privacy. 

o   Jotform and Google Workspace to collect and store the Information you share with us. See Jotform’s privacy and security documentation at https://www.jotform.com/privacy/. See Google’s privacy and security documentation at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

·      Cookies – CityPup and its social media partners may use “cookies,” “session tokens,” or other automated mechanisms to collect information about you on the Services. Cookies are small files that are stored on your browser or smartphone’s temporary files. They make use of the Services easier to navigate by saving login information and preferences and recalling other aspects of your use of the Services. Your smartphone or browser may allow you to disable cookies, but doing so may impair some of the functionality of the Services.

III.     How We Use the Information that We Collect 

We may use the information collected about you in order to operate, develop, research, modify, and improve these Services and any other related services. This may include using your information to:

·      Provide Services you request;

·      Verify that you are a human and dog owner;

·      Maintain a record of any Information that you submit and share with others;

·      Provide administrative notices applicable to your use of these Services;

·      Respond to your questions and comments and provide user support;

·      Analyze trends in statistics regarding visitors’ use of these Services;

·      Protect against and prevent infringement, unauthorized use and access of these Services, and claims and other liabilities;

·      Enforce our Terms of Service and this Policy; and

·      Comply with applicable legal requirements, court orders, legal proceedings, and document requests.

IV.     Information We Share

Some amount of sharing is necessary in order for CityPup to operate these Services. The following individuals or entities may have access to your information:

·      CityPup and its contractors – members of the CityPup team, and any independent contractors they work with, may have access to user information as it is reasonably needed for the operation of these Services.

·      Third party service providers – CityPup may work with third-party providers in order to research, develop, operate, or improve these Services and any related services, and may share user information with third party service providers as is needed for those service providers to provide services to CityPup.

·      Business transfers – If CityPup is acquired by another company, goes into dissolution, or otherwise transfers ownership or assets, CityPup may sell or transfer user information as part of that transaction.

·      Legal compliance – CityPup may share information if we believe, in our sole discretion, that such disclosure is necessary in order to comply with any court order, subpoena, or other legal process, including an order to respond to any government or regulatory request, or if we believe such disclosure is necessary to enforce or apply our Terms of Service and other agreements, or if we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to protect the rights, property, or safety of CityPup, our users, or others.

·      Data analysis – CityPup may share aggregated, anonymized data[ES5]  derived from user information for any business purpose, including for analyzing demographic and usage information or to help identify new partners and companion services.

V.     Communications with Others

These Services allow you to communicate with other users, and to potentially meet other users in the real world. If you choose to disclose information to other users while using these Services, you do so at your own risk. CityPup is not responsible for the privacy or security of any information, personal or otherwise, that you may choose to communicate or exchange using these Services.

VI.     Children Under 18 Years of Age

Children under the age of 18 are not permitted to use, access or register on these Services in any way. CityPup does not knowingly collect or solicit information from anyone under the age of 18. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under the age of 18, we will delete that information as quickly as possible.

VII.     Changes to This Policy

If CityPup decides to change this Policy, we will post those changes on these Services so users can remain aware of our data practices. If we make material changes to how we treat our users' personal information, we will notify you through a notice on the Services. The effective date of the current version will be posted at the top of this Policy. Please check this page periodically for updates.

VIII.     “Do Not Track” Browser Signals

CityPup does not process “Do Not Track” signals sent by a web browser. To control what data CityPup has access to on your smartphone, please use your phone’s privacy settings.
